香港城市大学推出“HK Tech 300”创新创业计划，助力校友与学生打造初创企业。故事主角Marco，90后生物科技企业家，与香港城大同学合作创立了HANDS。他们获得多项资助，并于2017年进入香港科学园。HANDS以科研实证为核心，推出了护肤品牌Factiv，以透明度和成分命名，每款产品都有科学依据。

Factiv在一年内实现收支平衡，2020年营业额超过1,000万港元，正计划国际市场拓展。除了Factiv，HANDS还开发利用微藻提取物的护肤品，以及情绪相关个人护理产品。Marco与团队坚持科学，不卖幻想，他希望通过分享科研信息，让消费者做出明智选择。

Marco在大学期间就开始研究转基因大肠杆菌，为痴肥提供解决方案，但由于成本问题放弃。此后，他们转向微藻研究，在深海特定环境中发现具有抗炎、止痒效果的次生光合色素。

Hong Kong City University (HKCU) launched the "HK Tech 300" innovation and entrepreneurship plan to assist Hong Kong City University students and alumni in starting their own businesses. The story's protagonist Marco, a 90-year-old bio-tech entrepreneur, co-founded HANDS with his university classmates. They received multiple funding support and entered the Hong Kong Science Park in 2017.

HANDS prioritizes scientific evidence as its core principle, launching Factiv skincare brand with transparent ingredients named after active components. Factiv achieved break-even within a year and exceeded HK$1 million in sales by 2020, preparing for international expansion.

In addition to Factiv, HANDS develops skincare products using microalgae extracts and emotional personal care items. Marco's team sticks to science; no fairy tales for them. He hopes sharing research information empowers consumers' wise choices.

During university days, Marco began researching genetically modified E. coli bacteria to tackle obesity but abandoned it due to high costs. They then shifted focus on algae research discovering secondary photosynthetic pigments effective against inflammation and itching in deep-sea environments.
